Rachel Maddow Covers The Values Voter Summit
Christine O'Donnell was there fresh from her primary win. Newt, Mike and Mitt were there, too. And then there were those other really interesting folks...
Thanks for the clip, DiAnne. I did not get a chance to see Rachel's show last night, so I missed Mr. Schaeffer's appearance. What he says about these far right religious figures is correct. I've always known that the main purpose for their existence is to enrich themselves by creating and promoting stereotypes and lies meant to compel certain members of this society to vote for them and support their lavish lifestyles. Something that their supporters never ask themselves but should is, why should they give money they could use for themselves and their families to these people and receive nothing in return except the opportunity to spend more money buying their books and attending events they get paid to appear at? As a retired teacher who has always had to live within my means, I have never understood what motivates someone to deprive him/herself of part of his/her income in order to make someone else rich(er.) What I find most distasteful in all of this is the fact that these people pass themselves off as the greatest examples of how a Christian should behave while lying through their teeth, taking advantage of others, and breaking every one of the Ten Commandments.
